Changelog

Every user-facing change, newest first — the same release history you see in the app.

v1.26.706.2217

July 6, 2026

  • [Fix] File review: comments left directly on a file now appear in the annotation sidebar, annotations are labeled correctly, and entitled workspaces no longer show a Pro badge on client portal navigation.
  • [Fix] File uploads: failed Cloudflare Stream videos now keep their error details across posts, comments, tasks, and canvas items, and video playback keeps its bandwidth hint when loading through the app proxy.
  • [Fix] File uploads: dropping a large batch of files no longer fails with a "Too many uploads" error. Files now retry automatically when the rate limit is hit, and the per-user limit has more room for batch uploads.
  • [Fix] Navigation: switching pages in a tab that has been open across a new release no longer throws a load error (this hit Firefox hardest). Each tab now stays pinned to its deployment and auto-recovers from stale code.
  • [Fix] Workspace loading: returning to a tab left idle for a while no longer gets stuck on "Loading your workspace…". The app re-authenticates when the tab wakes up and shows your already-loaded posts instead of hanging.
  • [New] File review: annotation placement is unified on the inline comment composer across every file type, so adding a pin or drawing works the same everywhere.
  • [Fix] File review: PDFs now load automatically in the viewer, open at the correct width, and center on a selected annotation.
  • [Fix] File review: large audio files no longer freeze the tab while the waveform is generated.
  • [New] Files: PDFs now show a first-page preview thumbnail instead of a generic file icon, including PDFs uploaded before this change.
  • [Fix] Files: image and video thumbnails no longer get stuck on a spinner or wrongly show "Preview unavailable" for previews that had already loaded (a cache-timing race) — previews now display reliably on load and refresh, and off-screen previews load as you scroll to them.
  • [New] Files: text, code, JSON, Markdown, and similar files now show a first-lines content preview thumbnail instead of a generic file icon.
  • [New] Files: Word (.docx) and Excel (.xlsx/.xls) files now open in an inline viewer — the document or spreadsheet renders in the file viewer instead of only offering a download.
  • [New] Files: Word, Excel, and CSV files now show a content-preview thumbnail — a table for spreadsheets and CSV, the document text for Word — instead of a generic file icon.
  • [Fix] File review: submitting an annotation on an image no longer shifts the view, and pins and strokes keep a constant size as you zoom.
  • [Fix] File review: video annotations appear around the moment they were made, saved drawings render on the video, and review videos play at the highest available quality.
  • [Fix] Notification and other emails now show "Project Feed" as the sender name instead of a bare "noreply".
  • [Fix] The feed no longer briefly flickers back to the loading skeleton if the connection blips after it has already loaded.
  • [Fix] Project members in the feed sidebar now show as an overlapping avatar stack instead of spaced-out avatars.
  • [Fix] Client portals no longer flash back to a loading or empty state while already-loaded portal and feedback data refreshes.
  • [Fix] Project settings and client portal detail pages now reset loading and not-found states cleanly when switching between projects or portals.
  • [Fix] Project settings now render their initial form data from the server instead of waiting for a client-side loading round trip.
  • [Fix] Project settings now render member and tag sections from the initial server payload instead of flashing loading states after the form appears.
  • [Fix] Client portal detail pages now render their initial portal bundle from the server instead of showing a loading card before the portal appears.
  • [Fix] Developer service-account, webhook, and workspace tag settings now render server-provided lists immediately instead of flashing a loading state first.
  • [Fix] Workspace navigation no longer gets caught in a Firefox reload loop after stale cached page state or service-worker recovery.
  • [Fix] Workspace pages no longer show temporary sign-in errors while live data subscriptions reconnect, which affected Firefox most often.
  • [Fix] Firefox now recovers from stale service workers before app code loads, preventing workspace selection from looping after an older cached worker breaks page assets.
  • [Fix] Firefox no longer treats service-worker asset misses as unexpected worker failures, preventing another workspace reload loop case.
  • [Fix] Firefox keeps retrying stale service-worker cleanup if the first browser cleanup attempt does not complete, preventing workspace selection from staying in a reload loop.
  • [Fix] File review: text, code, JSON, and CSV files now fill the review stage with their controls in the shared review toolbar.
  • [New] Instant popovers: task and post detail popovers now preload while you hover, so they open immediately with content instead of a loading spinner.
  • [New] Dialogs now open and close from the item you clicked instead of the center of the screen, making it clearer where a popover came from.
  • [New] Files: a search box in the toolbar now finds files by name, combining with the existing type, project, date, and uploader filters.
  • [New] File review: Word, Excel, CSV, text, and code files can now be annotated with pins and drawings, just like images and PDFs, and annotations show in the Files viewer.
  • [New] File review: Word, Excel, CSV, text, and code files now respond to the viewer's zoom controls.
  • [Fix] File review: zooming a PDF wider than the viewer no longer clips the left edge of the page off-screen.
  • [New] Files: Word, Excel, CSV, text, and code thumbnails are now generated once at upload and stored, so grids load instantly instead of re-reading each file every visit.
  • [Fix] Posting no longer occasionally crashes the page with a "Cannot have two HTML5 backends" error right after submitting (most visible when posting with a video still uploading).
  • [Fix] Attachments: PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, and other files now show real preview thumbnails on feed posts, post comments, tasks, docs, and canvas — everywhere, not just Files — including files uploaded before stored previews existed.
  • [New] API attribution: task changes made through the API now show which client made them (a Claude, Codex, or CLI badge in the activity feed) instead of only a generic API tag, and the Project Feed CLI can declare its client with PFEED_CLIENT or "pf config set client".
  • [Fix] Client feedback: comments and annotations left by clients in a client portal are now visible to every team member with access to the post — not just workspace admins — and project members can reply, resolve, and react to client threads. Client portal management stays admin-only.
  • [New] Post notifications: you now automatically follow posts you create, comment on, or annotate, and get notified about new comments and client feedback on them. A bell button on each post lets you follow or mute it; muting always wins.
  • [Fix] Comment attachments: Word and Excel files attached to comments now open in an inline preview instead of a download-only card, and sprite sheets no longer open to an empty viewer.
  • [Fix] Task comments: @mentioning a teammate in a task comment now sends them a mention notification, matching how mentions already work in post comments.
  • [New] Docs notifications: commenting on a docs page now notifies the page author, and replies notify the comment author — previously only explicit @mentions or assignments sent any signal. Wiki mentions also now appear under the Mentions filter in the notification center with proper icons.
  • [Fix] Files: files attached to tasks in private projects no longer appear in the library, stats, or direct links for members who don't have access to that project.
  • [New] Mobile file viewer: images can now be zoomed on phones and tablets — pinch to zoom, drag to pan while zoomed, and double-tap to zoom in or back out. The zoom buttons are also visible on small screens now.
  • [Fix] Feed loading: the feed (and bookmarks, project feeds, team page) no longer flashes an empty "No updates yet" state before your posts appear on fresh page loads — server-rendered content now stays put while the live connection authenticates.
  • [New] Project pages: projects with a header image now open with a full cover banner — the title and description overlay the image with the tabs below. Project links live in the header as one-click chips (with overflow when there are many), replacing the old hidden count, and editors get a quick "Add link" shortcut when there are none. The header now only shows a visibility badge when a project is private.
  • [New] Project icons: projects can now have a custom icon (uploaded in project settings with square cropping) that replaces the initials tile in the sidebar, project lists, filters, and project pages.
  • [New] Project settings: rebuilt to match workspace settings — a dedicated settings view with its own section navigation (General, Links, Members, Tags, Integrations, Danger zone), one focused page per section, and the same comfortable form width. Project icon and header image live in General, and project visibility now sits with member management.
  • [Fix] Activity feed: post renames and project moves, plus canvas archive, restore, and move events now appear in the workspace activity feed, and members with access to only a few projects no longer get artificially short activity pages that stop loading early.
  • [Fix] Project settings: the General page now groups the cover image, icon, name, description, and color into one "Project Profile" card — the icon rests on the cover like it does on the project page instead of overlapping an upload box, and everything that saves on demand sits under a single Save button.
  • [New] Project icons: a project's icon can now be a built-in icon picked from a curated grid (shown in the project's color) as well as a custom uploaded image — choose either from the icon in project settings, and it shows in the sidebar, project lists, and filters. Picking one replaces the other.
  • [Fix] Project pages: a project with a cover image now collapses its banner as you scroll — the image shrinks and fades into a compact header (title + tabs) instead of holding a tall banner, so it no longer wastes vertical space while scrolling the feed.
  • [Fix] Project tasks: the "Created by me" filter on a project's Tasks tab now actually shows only tasks you created — previously it listed every task in the project (with a misleading "Show more"). It's index-backed, so the count and pagination are exact.
  • [Fix] Media viewer: opening an image or file attached to a comment no longer throws a server error — the "who's viewing" presence avatars now work for comment attachments, not just post attachments.
  • [Fix] Document previews: .docx files now open like a real document — a centered white page with dark text at a comfortable reading width, floating on the dark viewer, instead of a cramped dark card that left black gutters down the sides.
  • [Fix] GIF viewer: animated GIFs now play in the file viewer instead of showing "Failed to load GIF frames" — the viewer loads the original (un-resized) image so frames can be read, and falls back to native playback if frame extraction isn't possible.
  • [New] Upload from the file tabs: the project Files tab and the workspace Files page now have an Upload button that opens the post composer already scoped to the project, so uploaded files lands on a post (with its own comment/annotation thread) instead of floating loose. Viewers don't see the button.
  • [Fix] File annotations: comments on file in the read-only viewer (e.g. opened from the project Files tab) now show their text instead of raw editor code.
  • [New] Comment & annotate from anywhere: files opened from the Files or a project's Files tab is no longer view-only — you can add comments and pin annotations right there, attached to the file's post, instead of having to find the original post first. (Viewers, and files not attached to a post, stay read-only.)
  • [Fix] Video uploads: a video you just posted no longer shows a "Failed to load video" error while Cloudflare is still encoding it — the feed now shows a "Processing…" state and starts playing on its own once the video is ready.
  • [Fix] File viewer: opening a text, code, JSON, or CSV file now scrolls through the whole file with the mouse wheel or trackpad, instead of getting stuck at the top.
  • [New] Text & code files: opening a text, code, JSON, or CSV file from a post now uses the same file review viewer as images and videos — with pin annotations and a comment thread alongside — instead of a plain preview dialog.
  • [Fix] Post attachments: text and code files now sit in the same section as images and videos — the post's attachment section is one "Files" group (previously split into separate "Media" and "Files" sections). In the file viewer, long lines now wrap by default (with a toggle to unwrap and scroll horizontally instead), and the file contents can be selected and copied.
  • [New] File review: the annotation sidebar now has an open/close toggle in the viewer header (open by default). Text and code files opened from a post now show the annotation sidebar like every other file type, and toggling the sidebar no longer resizes the file, so annotation pins stay exactly where they were placed.
  • [New] Text & code annotations: you can now select lines in a text or code file and comment on them from the annotation sidebar — the selection is highlighted, and clicking a highlight or its sidebar entry scrolls the file to it and focuses it, just like pins on images and videos.
  • [Fix] Video uploads: a video that Cloudflare can't process (e.g. an unsupported format) no longer shows a broken player that fails to load — it now shows a clear "Couldn't process this video" state with the reason, everywhere a video appears (feed, post detail, file review, comments, canvas). The post composer also shows an "Encoding…" state per video and surfaces a processing failure before you post.
  • [Fix] Video uploads: MKV recordings (e.g. from OBS) and other less-common formats (AVI, FLV, WMV, MPEG, 3GP, and more) now upload and play reliably — they're recognized by extension and automatically converted to MP4 in your browser before upload, so Cloudflare can process them instead of failing with an "unknown error".
  • [Fix] File review: videos in the review viewer, review carousel, and full-screen lightbox now lock to full resolution instead of adapting down to a lower quality — so you're always inspecting the sharpest frame.
  • [Fix] File review: the thumbnail filmstrip now shows real previews for PDFs, Word/Excel, and text/code files (matching Files) instead of generic file icons, and no longer shows a stray horizontal scrollbar.
  • [Fix] File review: opening or closing the annotation sidebar now resizes the file once instead of stepping through several intermediate sizes (which was especially janky for PDFs).
  • [Fix] File review: PDFs now open as a centered, comfortably-sized page floating on the dark canvas instead of stretching full-width — and the magnifier zooms in from there — matching how Word, Excel, and text/code documents already display.
  • [New] File review: multi-page PDFs now have a left page-thumbnail rail — click a page to jump to it, the current page is highlighted, and pages with comments show a count badge. The rail is collapsible, and the old bottom page-navigation bar is gone.
  • [Fix] Feed: animated GIFs in post file previews now show a still first frame and play only on hover, instead of autoplaying all at once.
  • [Fix] Canvas: the location ping (press `/`) is now a proper radar pulse — a bright dot with radiating sonar rings — instead of a faint blip that was easy to miss.
  • [New] Canvas: a location ping now stays pinned to its spot on the board while anyone pans or zooms, and when it scrolls off-view a direction arrow appears at the screen edge pointing toward it.
  • [Improvement] Workspace navigation and client sharing now use the updated wording: Client portals and Files.

v1.26.628.1938

June 28, 2026

  • Workspace MFA policies now apply at workspace entry and point blocked users to account 2FA setup.
  • Programmatic media uploads now fail closed for encrypted workspaces until encrypted API and MCP uploads are supported.
  • The landing page got a ground-up redesign: a new hero, platform tour, client portal showcase, capabilities directory, automation section, and pricing overview, plus structured data and canonical tags across all marketing pages for better search results.
  • Client feeds now let guests load older shared updates instead of stopping at the first 200 items.
  • Drawing and shape annotations on images now reveal when you hover their pin (and stay shown while the annotation is selected), so published markup is easy to find again.
  • Newly created annotations now stay selected so their marker and discussion stay in focus immediately after posting.
  • Project analytics now includes a weekly timesheet view with task rows, daily totals, and week navigation for checking logged time at a glance.
  • Client inbox feedback now includes an Approve option alongside comments and change requests.
  • Docs pages now load their sidebar navigation incrementally so docs routes open faster before the full directory tree hydrates.
  • Docs now keep page content visible while live editing connects, instead of flashing a blank loading state when you open a page.
  • [Improvement] Cleaner page titles and shared-link previews across the landing and feature pages, with breadcrumb structured data added for search.

June 21, 2026

  • Client feeds now have a dedicated Files section — reached from a new sidebar alongside Feed — that collects all the media shared across the feed into one gallery, grouped by update; clients can browse it all at a glance, open any to leave annotations and comments, and download it when downloads are enabled.
  • Client feeds also get an Activity tab — a single reverse-chronological stream of everything happening across the feed (new updates, comments, replies, and approvals), each row linking straight to the update.
  • Clients can now mark their own annotations and comments as resolved (and reopen them) right from a feed, so it's clear which feedback has been handled.
  • Home and project feeds now refresh live results without needing a page reload when the active filters stay the same.

June 18, 2026

  • [Improvement] Client feed downloads: the download button now has a menu of options, videos download as MP4 files, and every attachment has a quick download on its thumbnail.
  • [Fix] Video annotations in client feeds now finish saving immediately and show the new pinned drawing without waiting on a full feed refresh.
  • [Fix] Videos in the workspace and client feeds now stop showing the loading pulse once playback is ready or already playing.
  • [Fix] Video reviews now let pins, drawing, arrow, and shape tools work over the video instead of clicks falling through to the player.
  • [Fix] Workspace feed video tiles now play as soon as the video is ready instead of staying stuck on a processing state.
  • [Improvement] Paused video reviews now show only the annotations near the current frame instead of revealing every annotation at once.
  • [Improvement] Video review sidebars now clearly highlight the selected annotation and the annotation nearest the current timestamp.
  • [Fix] Video scrubbers now keep the played-progress bar visually aligned with the knob even when the rest of the video is already buffered.

June 17, 2026

  • [New] Attach any file type to posts, comments, and tasks — text, code, CSV, and JSON files now get rich in-app previews (syntax highlighting, tables, line numbers), and you can create or paste text snippets right in the composer.
  • [Fix] PDFs now load reliably when a media link uses the non-www app domain, avoiding a blocked redirect in Safari.
  • [Fix] Docs presence avatars no longer flicker or show the wrong state when you have the same page open in both a popover and a full tab.
  • [New] Download any doc as PDF, Word (.docx), Markdown, HTML, or plain text, and import Markdown or Word files as new docs.
  • [Fix] Collaborator cursors on canvases now glide smoothly instead of stuttering as they move.
  • [New] Direct canvas links: opening a canvas now updates the URL, so you can share a direct link to it and it stays open when you refresh.
  • [Fix] Canvas item dragging for collaborators now replicates in real time, without the other person's cursor flying off-screen or the item freezing mid-drag.
  • [Improvement] On canvases, the styling toolbar and a collaborator's cursor now hide while an item is being moved, keeping the view clean.
  • [Improvement] Canvas images, videos, audio, and document cards now align, select, and resize using their full attached file frame.
  • [Improvement] You can now add more files to a canvas while earlier uploads are still in progress — new drops, pastes, and attachments upload alongside instead of being blocked.
  • [New] Stack frames: select multiple canvas items and choose "Stack into deck" to pile them into a sleek card deck — the top cards peek out and spray wider on hover, dropping items on the pile adds them, and clicking the deck opens a card list beside it where hovering a row riffles that card forward. Double-click the deck (or use arrow keys while it's selected) to flip through every card in a full-size viewer, where videos and docs are fully readable. Unstack fans everything back out.
  • [New] Canvas drawing tools: sketch freehand with the pen (P), drop straight lines (L) and arrows (A, hold Shift to snap angles), and erase with a swipe (E) — the eraser only removes drawings and shapes, never your linked content. Shapes are now drawn to size with a click-drag (a plain click still places the default), and a new settings panel beside the board sets stroke color, width, line style, fill, and opacity for whatever you draw next — selected shapes and drawings get the same controls in their toolbar. Strokes have a natural hand-drawn feel: draw slowly for thicker ink, quickly for thinner.
  • [Improvement] Collaborators now see your pen strokes appear live as you draw them on a canvas, instead of only when you lift the pen.
  • [Improvement] Canvas navigation now matches Excalidraw: scroll to move around (shift+scroll for sideways), pinch or ctrl/cmd+scroll to zoom, and hold Space (or use the middle mouse button) to drag-pan with any tool. Right-click now opens the context menu directly instead of panning.
  • [Improvement] Project Files now includes a Load more control so projects with more than 48 files can reveal the rest without replacing the files already shown.
  • [Improvement] Collaborator cursors on canvases now update more frequently, making live collaboration feel more responsive.
  • [Improvement] Docs with many embedded objects now load faster and feel more responsive.
  • [Improvement] Docs with long comment histories now load comment threads in pages, keeping the editor responsive while older threads load on demand.
  • [Improvement] Member profile pages now load member headers more reliably in large workspaces.
  • [Improvement] Marketing demo animations now pause when offscreen or in the background and respect reduced-motion settings.
  • [Improvement] Public post share links now load large attachment galleries in pages, so the post content appears faster while the rest of the media loads on demand.
  • [Improvement] Organization settings and billing pages now load member and project usage counts faster, making large workspaces more reliable to open.
  • [Fix] Quickly revising a newly created flowchart on a canvas no longer shows a raw error.
  • [Improvement] Canvas shapes now draw with a hand-drawn sketch outline by default, matching the pen tool's ink — and every shape can switch between Sketch, Clean, Dash, and Dot stroke styles from the tool settings or selection toolbar.
  • [Fix] Empty canvas shapes no longer show a "Double-click to edit" hint inside the shape — double-click still opens the label editor.
  • [Improvement] The canvas style panel moved to the top-left corner and now shows stroke width, stroke style, and fill as visual icons instead of text labels, with 0–100 endpoints under the opacity slider.
  • [Improvement] Selecting a shape or drawing on a canvas now opens the same style panel on the left — color, stroke, fill, text alignment, and opacity edit in one place, joined by new Layers controls (bring forward / send back) and one-click Duplicate, Reset size, and Delete actions.
  • [Improvement] Canvas connector mode no longer shows obsolete anchor-drag or quick-create controls now that connectors are created through the arrow tool.
  • [New] Onboarding is now a guided, step-by-step flow with a progress bar: name yourself, pick a username, add a profile photo (GIFs welcome), preview how you'll show up, then choose to create a workspace or join one — one focused screen at a time, with a back button to revisit any step. Invitations sent to your email show up right there for one-tap joining (or paste an invite link), and creating a workspace previews its address as you type.
  • [Improvement] The canvas toolbar is now a vertical rail on the left edge with the style panel docked right beside it — pick a tool and its settings (including the shape picker, now a panel section) are one short hop away instead of across the screen.
  • [New] The arrow tool now connects items like Excalidraw: drag an arrow between two items (a ring highlights what you'll attach to) and it becomes a live connector that follows them as they move — replacing the separate connector tool. Arrows and lines also default to the hand-drawn sketch ink, matching the pen and shapes.
  • [Improvement] Selecting a connecting arrow on a canvas now opens the left style panel — color, line style, arrow type, and arrowheads edit in one place instead of a floating toolbar over the arrow.
  • [Fix] Canvas keyboard shortcuts no longer go dead when the canvas is opened as an overlay — F (fit to selection), undo, tool keys, and Delete all work again in that mode.
  • [New] Selected lines and arrows on canvases now show edit dots like Excalidraw: drag an endpoint to reshape it, drag the middle dot to bow the line into a curve (drop it back on the line to straighten), and use the dot above the box to rotate any drawing — Shift snaps rotation to 15° steps.
  • [New] Selected connecting arrows show the same edit dots — drag an endpoint onto a different item to reconnect the arrow there.
  • [New] Connecting arrows are now fully adjustable like Excalidraw: drag the middle dot to bend the arrow into a curve (drop it back on the line to straighten), slide an endpoint along its shape to move where the arrow attaches, or pull an endpoint into empty space to detach the arrow into a free drawing.
  • [Improvement] Lines and drawings on canvases now select like Excalidraw: clicking lands on the stroke itself, so the empty space around a diagonal line stays available for marquee selection and panning — and holding Shift while dragging a line's endpoint snaps it to 15° angles.
  • [Improvement] The "···" menu that floated over selected canvas items is gone — those actions (arrange, reset size, delete) live in the right-click menu and the left style panel.
  • [Improvement] Connecting arrows now anchor like Excalidraw: the arrow meets the actual outline of diamonds, circles, and triangles along the line between the shapes (instead of floating beside their corners), and arrows drawn with the sketch style render as hand-drawn ink — wobbly shaft and arrowheads matching the pen and shapes.
  • [New] Canvas keyboards got Excalidraw parity: Cmd/Ctrl+A selects everything, Cmd/Ctrl+D duplicates the selection, Cmd/Ctrl +/− and Cmd/Ctrl+0 control zoom, Shift+1 fits the whole board, Shift+2 fits the selection, and undo now also answers to Alt+Z (Alt+Shift+Z redoes) and tolerates Cmd+Opt+Z.
  • [Improvement] Profile and workspace selection screens now load more reliably for accounts in many workspaces.
  • [Improvement] Canvas collaboration can now use a low-latency relay so cursors, pings, selections, and follow mode stay responsive during busy sessions.
  • [Improvement] Integration and developer settings now handle large workspace lists more smoothly, with load-more support for inbound webhook secrets.
  • [Improvement] Feed project subscription settings now stay responsive in large workspaces.
  • [Improvement] Canvas PDF cards are dramatically lighter, cutting memory use and keeping panning smooth even with several large documents on the board.
  • [Improvement] Document cards on canvases (PDF, Word, Excel) are now easy to select and move: clicking or dragging anywhere on the card works like any other item, and the document's own scrolling and clicking unlock once the card is selected.
  • [Improvement] Media titlebars on canvases (documents, images, video, audio) now show an expand button on hover that opens the full preview viewer — same as double-clicking, but discoverable.
  • [New] Right-clicking any canvas item now offers "Reset original size" — handy for snapping an oversized document or card back to its default dimensions.
  • [New] PDFs on canvases now have page layout controls: select a PDF and choose vertical, horizontal, or grid pages (2–4 columns) from the left panel — pages rearrange inside the card (resize it however you like), and only the pages on screen actually render, keeping big documents smooth.
  • [New] Word documents (.docx) and Excel spreadsheets (.xls/.xlsx) on canvases now preview their contents inline like PDFs — formatted document text and a real table grid for the first sheet — instead of a download-only card.
  • [Improvement] Selecting a note, text box, or frame on a canvas now opens the same left style panel as shapes and drawings — color, text alignment, background, and frame border style all edit in one place beside the toolbar.
  • [Improvement] The floating Align/Distribute/Normalize/Auto-organize bar above multi-selections is gone — those actions now live in the right-click menu when two or more items are selected, keeping the canvas clear while you arrange things.
  • [Improvement] Arrows now attach to canvas items the way Excalidraw binds: finishing a stroke near a shape is enough to connect (the ring shows what you'll attach to), the contact glides around the shape to keep facing the other end as items move — preserving where you aimed it — and dragging a free line or arrow's endpoint onto a shape converts it into a live connector.
  • [Improvement] Canvas arrows now attach to the full visible file frame on document, image, video, and audio cards instead of aiming at the hidden media body.
  • [Fix] Deleting canvas lines and arrows no longer leaves behind a stale "Item not found" error.
  • [Improvement] Rotating or reshaping a drawing now shows live for everyone on the canvas — collaborators watch the shape turn as you drag instead of it jumping seconds later, and moved or edited items rest exactly where they were dropped while the save catches up.
  • [Fix] Canvas cursors, live drags, and item moves no longer fall behind during busy sessions, so collaboration stays responsive instead of lagging.
  • [Fix] Task descriptions now refresh live when changed by someone else, without overwriting an in-progress local edit.
  • [Improvement] Large canvases now open faster, keeping busy boards responsive while nearby items and connectors load first.
  • [New] Adding a contact to a client feed now emails them an invite link automatically.
  • [Improvement] The client feed post approval picker now uses the app's standard dialog design.
  • [Improvement] Client feed portal links now stay visible in the admin dashboard instead of being shown only once at creation — no more regenerating the link (and breaking the old one) just to copy it.
  • [Fix] The client feed portal now orders updates by when the work was posted, not when it was approved into the feed.
  • [Improvement] Requesting a client feed sign-in link now confirms instantly — the email is delivered in the background.
  • [Improvement] The workspace home feed now loads noticeably faster on first paint.
  • [Fix] Client feed creation and link rotation now keep working in more environments, and admins still receive the one-time share link immediately.
  • [New] Client feed and share-link media now opens in the same full review viewer as the app — zoom and pan images, scrub video, play audio with waveforms, and inspect 3D models, sprites, and documents.
  • [Improvement] Client portal media now loads richer previews (blur-up placeholders, waveforms, sprite playback) and respects the feed's download setting inside the viewer.
  • [Improvement] Shared and staging video previews now load more reliably.
  • [New] Clients can now pin feedback directly on media in the client feed portal — click Annotate in the viewer to drop a note on an exact spot in an image, a video timestamp, or a 3D view.
  • [New] Your team now gets notified when a client leaves feedback, replies, approves a post, or requests changes in a client feed.
  • [New] Clients can approve or request changes on each post in the portal, and the admin Content tab shows each post's sign-off state.
  • [Improvement] The client feed portal now updates live — new posts, feedback, and replies appear without refreshing, and feedback sends instantly.
  • [New] Client invite emails now include a reusable one-click sign-in link that stays available until the client is revoked.
  • [Improvement] Regenerating a client feed link now invalidates older reusable invite emails tied to the previous link.
  • [Improvement] The client portal header now shows your workspace name and logo.
  • [Improvement] The Clients tab now shows when each client was last active, and client feeds load faster in the admin list.
  • [New] Client feeds now have a Feedback tab where you can read every client comment grouped by post, reply to clients directly, and mark threads as resolved.
  • [New] Canvas shapes can now be rotated like lines and drawings: select a shape and drag the dot above it to spin it (Shift snaps to 15° steps), with resize handles that keep working correctly at any angle. Copy, paste, and duplicate keep the rotation.
  • [Improvement] Canvas rotation handles now use the same shape-style handle everywhere, including drawing rotation.
  • [Fix] Panning a zoomed-out canvas is now much smoother in Safari.
  • [Improvement] Canvas shapes reached Excalidraw parity in the style panel: a separate background fill color, three sloppiness levels for the hand-drawn outline, sharp/round edge toggle for rectangles, font family (hand-drawn, normal, code) and size (S/M/L/XL) for labels, and vertical text alignment — labels now center in the shape by default instead of clipping at the top, while editing too.
  • [Fix] Canvas shape labels now stay readable on light canvas backgrounds when the shape uses a colored stroke or fill.
  • [Fix] Canvas shape labels now save when you click away from the shape instead of disappearing after edit mode closes.
  • [New] Canvas items can now be grouped and ungrouped like Excalidraw: use Cmd/Ctrl+G to group, Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+G to ungroup, then click or drag any item in the group to move it together.
  • [Fix] Grouped canvas items now show one selection box for the group instead of also drawing individual selection boxes on every member.
  • [Improvement] Canvas shortcuts now more closely match Excalidraw: numbers select tools; R/D/O select rectangle, diamond, and ellipse; plus frame, arrange, align, lock, find, command palette, grid, and snap controls.
  • [Fix] Client feed videos with a playable stream now open in the expanded viewer instead of staying on the processing screen.
  • [Fix] Undoing a canvas deletion now restores the items in their original stacking order, and if the restore is interrupted it rolls back cleanly instead of leaving some items behind.
  • [Fix] Undoing a canvas deletion now also restores each item to its original layer relative to the items that stayed on the board, instead of bringing the restored group back on top.
  • [Improvement] If a canvas text edit can't save because someone else changed the same item at that moment, your typed text is now kept and a "Restore my text" button re-applies it instead of making you retype.
  • [New] The canvas now shows a connection indicator and warns before you close the tab while changes are still saving or you're offline, so your work isn't silently lost.
  • [Improvement] Canvas stacks, connectors, document cards, and erasing now behave more reliably during undo, collaboration, selection, and layout changes.
  • [Fix] Returning to a workspace page after your browser unloaded it now retries the app reload instead of getting stuck on the cached offline screen.
  • [Improvement] The workspace home feed now renders as soon as the first feed page is ready, even if the desktop summary rail is still loading.
  • [Fix] Task list views now let you load additional pages instead of silently stopping after the first batch of tasks.
  • [Improvement] The client feed portal is redesigned as an inbox: updates sit in a list on the left with unread dots and review status, the selected update opens in a reading pane with its media front and center, and the conversation and reviewer details sit alongside — so clients can triage and review at a glance.
  • [New] Clients can now leave native, threaded comments and submit proper reviews — Approve, Request changes, or Comment — with each update showing its current review state and filters for what still needs your review.
  • [New] Client feeds now match your workspace brand: set a Brand color in workspace settings to theme the client portal and its sign-in page, which already carry your logo and name.
  • [New] Client feedback now appears on your side too: pins, drawings, and comments left in the client portal show up in the post's media review viewer, the annotation sidebar, and the activity timeline — and clients can mark up media (including 3D models) with arrows and shapes, not just pins, with their drawings anchored to the exact spot they marked.
  • [Fix] When something goes wrong, the app now shows a clear, friendly message — including throughout onboarding — instead of raw technical error text.
  • [Fix] Client feed video tiles now leave the processing state once the stream is playable, even if the backend status update is still catching up.
  • [Improvement] Video review annotations now keep playback paused while you draw, save drawings against the exact frame time, and open docs media reviews at original quality when available.
  • [Fix] PDF reviews in the media popover now fit within the visible document pane instead of being cut off by the comments sidebar.
  • [Fix] The media review comment composer now keeps annotation tools available even when sidebar details are missing, by falling back to the currently open media item.
  • [Improvement] Notifications now use a quieter unread style and automatically clear when you view the post they point to.
  • [Improvement] Client feeds now show a protected portal shield with clear access details and Project Feed attribution.
  • [Fix] Client feed comments now show the client's name instead of labeling the current client as "You".
  • [New] Client feed visitors can now set and edit their profile name, username, and profile image from the top-right user menu.
  • [Fix] Client feed profile usernames now catch active conflicts reliably, even if older revoked clients previously used the same name.

June 7, 2026

  • [Fix] Workspace logos now fall back to a placeholder icon instead of disappearing if the image CDN has a hiccup.
  • [Fix] Canvas thumbnails and "last edited" times now refresh after text-only edits.
  • [Improvement] Attachments in the composer now show as rich cards — file-type icon tiles with names, an inline audio preview player, and cleaner hover and uploading states — and you can click one to preview it.
  • [Improvement] Time exports now include a per-person total.
  • [Fix] Videos no longer occasionally show as "unavailable" and attachment thumbnails no longer fail to load shortly after upload.
  • [Improvement] App updates no longer refresh the page out from under you — a "new update is ready" prompt now appears in the sidebar so you can update when you're ready.

June 6, 2026

  • [New] Canvas text boxes now support rich text formatting — headings, lists, bold/italic, links, code, and more — with the same editor and "/" commands as posts.
  • [New] Selecting a canvas item now shows a floating styling toolbar; text boxes can set a background (color, subtle/solid fill, border, and sharp/rounded/pill corners) and text alignment.
  • [Fix] Markdown shortcuts (`## ` for headings, `- ` for bullets, `**bold**`, etc.) now work reliably while typing in canvas text boxes and the post composer.
  • [Fix] Manual time logging no longer auto-expands from today when you pick an older day, and the date picker stays open so you can finish the range in one pass.
  • [Improvement] The annotation drawing pencil now works across every media type in review — draw and mark up PDFs, 3D models, sprite sheets, GIFs, Rive, and Lottie animations, not just images and video. Drawings stay pinned to the page, frame, camera angle, or moment they were made.

June 4, 2026

  • [Fix] Docs no longer go blank when you return to a tab after it's been idle — the live editor now reconnects on its own instead of needing a refresh.
  • [Improvement] Images now open at full resolution in the viewer, and fit, zoom, and pan smoothly for any image size or shape.
  • [Fix] Reading a doc no longer loses your place when another doc is created or updated in the workspace — the sidebar refreshes without disturbing the document you're viewing.
  • [Improvement] Attached photos and videos now upload in the background the moment you add them, so you can keep writing your post while they finish — and you can cancel an upload any time by removing the file.
  • [Improvement] Doc comments now behave like Google Docs: commented text is clearly underlined in your accent color, clicking a highlight opens its thread, and clicking a thread scrolls the document to the text.
  • [Improvement] Resolving a doc comment hides its highlight in the document; the thread stays in the comments panel greyed out, and reopening it restores the highlight.
  • [New] Docs now support GitHub-style Markdown shortcuts as you type — headings (`# ` through `###### `), inline `` `code` ``, and ``` ``` ``` code blocks — and the `#` menu for linking posts, docs, media, and tasks has a cleaner design with clearer Inline and Preview options.
  • [Fix] The Create-post dialog now closes automatically after you publish, instead of staying open.
  • [Fix] Opening your profile from the sidebar or account menu now lands on your real profile page instead of a broken link.
  • [Fix] Time exports (CSV and PDF timesheet) now always include entries you just logged, instead of occasionally missing the most recent ones.

June 3, 2026

  • [New] You can now see collaborators' live cursors in a doc, each with a colored caret and a name flag — just like Google Docs
  • [New] The Pages sidebar shows a small avatar next to any page someone else is currently on
  • [New] Click a person's avatar in the toolbar to jump straight to where they're working
  • [New] Docs now show a live stack of avatars for everyone currently viewing or editing the page, so you can tell at a glance who you're working alongside
  • [New] Time tracking now shows up in the activity feed — timers started and stopped, time entries logged or edited, and time-estimate changes — with a new "Time tracking" toggle in Activity Feed settings to filter it
  • [Improvement] Projects you create now appear in the sidebar right away with a brief highlight, and the Projects list keeps your most active and recently-created projects on top so they don't get lost — with a "Show more" button and a clearer pin control for the ones you want to keep handy
  • [New] You can now pin or unpin a project to your sidebar straight from its "…" menu — on the All Projects cards and on the project page itself
  • [Improvement] Polished a few dialogs and presence details: the docs share dialog now uses the app's standard dialog style, and we cleaned up some visual clutter on avatars and create dialogs

June 2, 2026

Pasting from Google Docs keeps its formatting

  • [Improvement] Pasting rich text into a doc now preserves headings, bold/italic, links, and list structure instead of dropping everything to plain text
  • [Improvement] Pasted text adapts to the doc's theme — Google Docs' hardcoded black text and fonts no longer come along (so it stays readable in dark mode)
  • [Improvement] Pasted bullet and numbered lists become real, editable lists
  • [Fix] Changing a block type (like Heading 2) now only affects the line you selected, instead of every line in the surrounding block — imported and pasted text is split into one block per line
  • [Improvement] Tightened the spacing between bullet and numbered list items so lists read as a single group
  • [Improvement] Creating a task, doc, canvas, space, or project now uses a refreshed, consistent dialog with a clear header and an accent primary action
  • [Improvement] Attaching media when creating a task uses the same polished drag-and-drop zone as Send Feedback
  • [Improvement] The invite members and public share-link dialogs adopt the same standardized design

May 28, 2026

Onboarding can now capture where new teams came from

  • [New] New workspace setup includes an optional "How did you hear about us?" question that never blocks signup

May 27, 2026

Task updates and time tracking are less noisy

  • [Improvement] Workspace members can now update task status and priority on tasks they can access without needing creator or admin rights
  • [Improvement] Manual time logging keeps the date picker open after the first range click so start and end dates can be selected in one pass
  • [Improvement] Project time tracking now lives only in Project Analytics, keeping the Tasks tab focused
  • [Fix] Session location alerts no longer trigger on harmless network changes like a shifting IP on the same network

May 26, 2026

API responses now include request IDs

  • [New] Every public API response now returns an X-Request-Id header, and error responses include the same requestId in their problem details so support can trace a specific request
  • [New] Clients may send a UUIDv4 X-Request-Id header to stitch retries and logs together; invalid or missing IDs are replaced with a generated UUIDv4

May 25, 2026

Projects now have an Analytics tab

  • [New] Every project page has a new Analytics subtab with an activity chart (created vs completed), a status mix breakdown, a priority breakdown of open work, and the full time-tracking section
  • [Improvement] The Analytics tab now opens with a year-round activity grid, source filters, streak summaries, and the time-range controls moved below the yearly view
  • [Improvement] The full time-tracking view lives in Project Analytics so the Tasks tab stays focused on task work
  • [Improvement] Cmd/Ctrl+K now includes matching workspace docs and canvases in search results, with Docs and Canvases filters in the result type dropdown
  • [Improvement] The cached offline screen now uses the Project Feed brand, dark app styling, and a clearer retry path when the network drops
  • [Fix] If a loaded workspace page loses the network during a reload, the current data stays visible instead of being replaced by the static offline screen
  • [New] Developer settings now lets Free workspaces create up to two read-only API keys for projects, posts, comments, reactions, and tasks
  • [Improvement] Pro remains the tier for full service accounts, write scopes, media, webhooks, MCP tools, docs, canvas, and higher API throughput
  • [Improvement] Media, team, and docs now use the same workspace header spacing, width, and action placement as tasks and canvases
  • [New] Profile settings now lets you add, verify, remove, and choose a primary email address while keeping one Project Feed account across personal and work inboxes
  • [New] Verified aliases can receive magic links for the same account; pending emails stay blocked until the inbox is verified

May 24, 2026

Plan project caps now respect archive remediation

  • [Improvement] Workspaces over the free active-project cap can archive projects to get back under the limit, while new project creation and project unarchive actions are blocked until there is room or the workspace upgrades
  • [Improvement] Videos over 200MB now upload reliably in chunks with automatic retry, instead of failing the basic upload limit

May 22, 2026

Personal access tokens are enabled by default on every workspace

  • [New] Personal access tokens are now available on every Project Feed workspace out of the box — no setup step required
  • [Improvement] Administrators can still disable the feature for security or maintenance, and revoke existing tokens in bulk during an incident
  • [New] GET /api/v1/me/push-subscriptions lists registered web-push devices (id, user-agent, timestamps, recent failure count) so you can audit which browsers/devices can receive your notifications
  • [New] DELETE /api/v1/me/push-subscriptions/: id revokes one device. Registration stays dashboard-session only — a leaked token cannot mint new push targets
  • [New] GET /api/v1/me/notification-preferences returns the user's account-default notification settings plus a sparse list of per-workspace overrides
  • [New] PATCH /api/v1/me/notification-preferences writes account-default fields only (email/push/in-app toggles, digest cadence, quiet hours, chat integration settings). Per-workspace overrides still go through the existing workspace-scoped endpoint so workspace audit logs stay accurate
  • [New] Account-scope API keys (Personal Access Tokens) can now hit /api/v1/me/notifications to read mentions, comments, and reactions across every workspace the owner belongs to — one feed, one token
  • [New] Companion endpoints landed in the same release: GET unread-count, POST read-all (with an optional ?organizationId scope), and PATCH /:id to toggle a single notification's read state
  • [Fix] Hitting a workspace endpoint (e.g. /api/v1/posts, /api/v1/tasks, /api/v1/media) with an account-scope API key now returns 400 with a pointer to use /api/v1/me/* for account-level operations, instead of silently falling back to the last-visited workspace

May 21, 2026

Saved posts update instantly

  • [Improvement] Saving or unsaving a post from the feed now flips the menu state immediately instead of waiting for the server to catch up
  • [Improvement] Post comments and replies now keep your typed text if the tab reloads or connectivity drops before you post
  • [Improvement] Cmd/Ctrl+K now shows workspace actions, navigation, recent projects, and project tabs immediately, then adds search results as you type
  • [Improvement] Reaction pickers now default to eyes, thumbs-up, and rocket, with your recent reactions filling in around those defaults

May 20, 2026

API client attribution on created content

  • [New] API and MCP writes can send an optional X-Project-Feed-Client header (codex, claude, grok, cursor, gemini, openai, cli) so posts, tasks, and comments show which AI client created them
  • [New] Source badges now show known client logos when attributed, falling back to the generic API badge with the service account name in the tooltip
  • [New] The pf CLI tags requests as cli automatically
  • [Improvement] Viewers opening a shared canvas now see a true read-only editor — editing tools, shortcuts, paste, and item menus are hidden instead of showing "not allowed" toasts on click
  • [New] Every task now has a Time section: start/stop a timer with one click, log time after the fact, set an optional estimate in plain English ("1h 30m", "90m", "1:30"), and review your own entries with hover actions to duplicate or delete
  • [New] A floating active-timer chip sits in the bottom-right while a timer is running — shows the task identifier, a live stopwatch, and a stop button, and turns amber after 8 hours so a forgotten timer doesn't accumulate forever
  • [New] Switching tasks is one click: starting a timer on a different task stops the current one and logs the elapsed time without losing a second
  • [New] Project Tasks tabs now lead with a Time strip — total tracked, entry count, active timers, and contributors, plus a daily breakdown chart, by-member list, and a Top tasks list ranked by time spent (with over-estimate badges)
  • [New] A "Copy yesterday's entries to today" button appears when you have entries from yesterday in the current project — one click duplicates the lot
  • [New] Export your project's tracked time to CSV — date, member, task, duration, note, and source columns
  • [Improvement] Cleanup is automatic: deleting a task or project, or removing a member from the workspace, closes any active timer with an auto-stop entry; timers running past 24h get auto-stopped automatically
  • [New] Time tracking settings let you toggle idle auto-pause, pick a threshold (5/10/15/30 min), and choose what happens after 5 min of no response (keep / discard / stop)

May 16, 2026

Your profile, access management, and API tokens have their own home

  • [Improvement] Personal settings now live at /profile — independent of any workspace, so the same URL works no matter which workspace you're in
  • [Improvement] Security pages live directly under /profile — Authentication (passkeys), Connected Applications, Active Sessions, API Tokens, and Activity log
  • [Improvement] Notifications, Appearance, and Privacy moved alongside profile at /profile/notifications, /profile/appearance, and /profile/privacy
  • [New] A new personal home at /me is the post-login landing page: it shows your workspaces (with a Last visited badge on the one you opened most recently) plus a notifications inbox preview
  • [Improvement] The sidebar's 'Account' section is now a single 'Manage personal account' link; feed preferences stay per-workspace because feeds are workspace-scoped
  • [Improvement] Old account-settings links continue to work for existing bookmarks and emails — they forward to the new /profile pages

May 9, 2026

Move a post to a different project

  • [New] The post edit page now shows the project as a clickable chip below the title — click it to move the post into any project you can post to in the workspace
  • [New] The change saves with the rest of your edits, so the post appears under the new project's feed and disappears from the old one when you save or publish a new version
  • [Improvement] Project moves count as unsaved changes, so the unsaved-changes prompt and draft restore both pick them up

May 6, 2026

Media API uploads are stricter

  • [New] POST /api/v1/media now has its own 50-per-hour upload limit per API key
  • [New] Base64 API uploads now accept audio, PDFs, SVG, Rive, self-contained 3D models, and valid Lottie JSON; raster images and videos use their dedicated upload pipelines
  • [Fix] When an API upload fails, your media count and quota usage stay accurate instead of drifting

May 3, 2026

Image and video reviews now support drawing annotations

  • [New] The media comment composer now includes pin, draw, arrow, line, rectangle, color, stroke width, undo, redo, and clear controls for images and videos
  • [New] Drawings stay locked to the frame when the sidebar opens, collapses, or the viewer resizes
  • [New] Video drawing pauses playback, captures the frame timestamp, and shows a drawing badge on annotated comments
  • [New] Post media sections now include a Review Media button that opens the media review viewer directly

April 27, 2026

April 25, 2026

Workspace home is now an activity hub

  • [New] Workspace home now has For You, Following, Mentions, Projects, and Updates tabs so you can switch between the main feed and focused activity views
  • [New] A compact post composer now sits inline on the For You tab, replacing the old top-right New button on the home page
  • [Improvement] The home composer now makes the required title field explicit while keeping post details optional
  • [Improvement] Inbox has been folded into a notification bell popout in the app shell, keeping Home as the primary activity surface
  • [Improvement] The default dark theme now uses a deeper near-black shell with emerald as the baseline accent
  • [New] Desktop layouts now include workspace summary panels for team activity, active projects, and assigned open tasks due soon
  • [New] The My Tasks sidebar item now displays a live count of open tasks assigned to you in this workspace — updates as you assign, complete, or close out work
  • [New] Counts include backlog, to-do, in-progress, and in-review statuses; done and cancelled don't count
  • [Improvement] Caps at 99+ to keep the sidebar tidy

April 23, 2026

Post character limit raised to 10,000 and consistently enforced

  • [Improvement] The post content limit is now 10,000 characters — up from 4,000 — and is enforced consistently across web, API, and CLI
  • [Fix] Posts created via the API or CLI that exceed the limit no longer get stuck as unsavable drafts — the edit form now explains the overage and lets you save while trimming content down
  • [Fix] The composer and edit form now measure characters the same way, so a post at exactly the limit won't refuse to save the moment you edit it

April 21, 2026

Project info moved into a dedicated dialog

  • [Improvement] Project pages now keep the header compact with a new Project info button next to the notification bell

April 19, 2026

Media API now attaches to tasks, comments, and task comments

  • [New] POST /api/v1/media accepts commentId, taskId, or taskCommentId in addition to postId — attachments no longer require a parent post
  • [New] GET /api/v1/media, GET /api/v1/media/: id, and DELETE /api/v1/media/:id accept a target query parameter (post | comment | task | taskComment) so callers can list or operate on any attachment kind
  • [Improvement] Existing post-only callers keep working unchanged — target defaults to post when omitted
  • [Improvement] Opening a subtask now shows the parent task as a breadcrumb, and browser back returns to the parent
  • [Improvement] The task popover's left list now shows sibling subtasks while viewing a subtask, with the context labelled at the top
  • [New] Added a Show subtasks toggle in the Display menu so you can surface subtasks in the list, board, and timeline views, with a parent indicator on each subtask row

April 17, 2026

Project docs tab

  • [New] Projects now have a Docs tab that keeps specs, runbooks, and decisions alongside tasks and canvases

April 16, 2026

Reply to comment notifications by email

  • [New] Replying to a comment, mention, or reply notification straight from your mail client now posts your reply as a threaded comment on the original post

  • [Improvement] Notification emails now deliver more reliably across Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and Fastmail

April 14, 2026

  • [Improvement] Canvas auto-organize now tells you when a requested Tree or Radial layout has to fall back to Flow, Tree, or Grid because the selected items don't support it
  • [Improvement] Disconnected canvas selections now explain when they are being organized as a grid instead of a graph layout
